Calista is a compassionate, client-centred, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Certified therapist, who works with pre-teens, adolescents, and adults navigating a wide range of emotional and life challenges. She has worked across diverse community settings, including health centres, hospitals, high schools, and universities ,giving her a thoughtful, well-rounded perspective on mental health across the lifespan.

Calista is deeply committed to creating a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space where clients feel genuinely heard and understood. She recognizes that reaching out for therapy can feel vulnerable, and she works at a pace that feels respectful, collaborative, and grounded. Many clients appreciate her calm presence and her ability to meet them exactly where they are, without pressure to “perform” or have things figured out.

Outside of her work, Calista enjoys spending time with family and friends, going for nature walks, cooking, and watching movies, grounding routines that reflect her belief in balance, connection, and self-compassion.

My Story

Calista believes that each person is the expert of their own life. Her role as a therapist is not to direct or prescribe, but to walk alongside clients as they make sense of their experiences and work toward meaningful change.

She takes an integrative, flexible approach, drawing from evidence-based therapies and adapting sessions to what feels most helpful in the moment. For some clients, this may involve talking through thoughts, emotions, and life stressors. For others — particularly pre-teens and youth, Calista incorporates play therapy, art, games, and other expressive approaches, offering developmentally appropriate ways to communicate feelings that may be difficult to put into words.

Calista understands that healing is not linear. Some days feel heavier than others, and she strives to create a space where clients can show up as they are ,whether that means feeling anxious, low, quiet, overwhelmed, or uncertain. She works gently and collaboratively, supporting clients in building insight, emotional awareness, and practical tools for coping.

Calista supports individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma & PTSD, emotional regulation difficulties, behavioural concerns, ADHD, and life transitions, and she works closely with families to support youth in feeling understood, supported, and more confident in themselves. She is also a FLORI-trained therapist and supports teens and young women participating in the FLORI Self-Esteem Program. Through this work, she helps clients build confidence, strengthen emotional resilience, develop healthier self-worth, and feel more grounded in who they are. Her focus is always on the whole person, not just symptoms, helping clients better understand their inner world, strengthen resilience, and move toward a life that feels more balanced and authentic.

Above all, Calista values the therapeutic relationship and believes that feeling safe, respected, and understood is the foundation for meaningful change.
