Nigel works with adolescents, young adults, adults, and couples. He works both in person and virtually. Nigel takes his approach slowly while developing a trusting, non-judgemental, and light environment.
Nigel believes in being open with who he is as a person. Clients and colleagues would describe Nigel as someone who is relatable, strong-willed, comforting, yet challenging, and someone who has more energy than a 2-year-old toddler yet goes to bed at 8 p.m.
He will sit with you through laughs and smiles, but also during the sad and painful times. Nigel believes in working on one’s perspective and how that can either provide strength and comfort or additional obstacles. In Nigel’s practice, his primary focus is supporting clients through grief, anxiety, depression, and traumatic life events. He uses an eclectic approach that includes Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Narrative Therapy, and others.
Nigel takes the approach that taking the step into therapy is not a sign of giving up, but refusing to give up.
