Teen & adolescent
During the teenage years it can be helpful to have someone outside of one’s family and peer group to talk to. Therapy can provide a safe space to process the unique challenges that come up during this stage of life and can help to bring about positive changes in their thought and behaviour patterns.
Teen counselling can be very effective in helping adolescents cope with issues such as anxiety, depression, relationships, trauma, and grieving. Teen therapists most often work one-on-one with the teen or in collaboration with their family. It all depends on their goals and preferences.
The overall goal of teen therapy is to help to boost self-esteem, self-awareness, and to create positive shifts in their thoughts and feelings while developing helpful coping strategies.
